Bujo is an acronym for bullet journaling, which is journaling on a bullet journal note.
During the quarantine, there has been an increase in the participants of bujo culture. To cope with sluggishness and lack of activities to do, many people turned to art–more specifically, artistically planning out their day on a note. A short clip of people on bullet journaling or videos about tips on bujo receive millions of views on TikTok and YouTube.
Below is a video of one of the most famous bujo YouTuber Amanda Rach Lee bullet journaling.
What’s your thought? Do you think BuJo is Art? If so, what kind of art is it?

I would definitely consider BuJo as art. The people who invest in bullet journaling that I know of all put a lot of thought and effort in the arrangement and the theme of each page in their bullet journals and end up creating really aesthetically pleasing pages that I would each consider an art piece. I also think BuJo incorporates the six steps (Idea/Purpose, Form, Idiom, Structure, Craft, Surface) discussed in McCloud’s work.
