In an economics class, I learned about a term called “choice architecture” which explains how our decisions can be shaped by the context in which choices are presented to us, where subtle differences in the design of the decision-making context or in the environment around us can have a significant impact on the decisions we make. Although this discusses a less artistic use of design I found it very interesting. It explains how design is essentially used in many more aspects of life than we think, especially in the creation of products. it’s also often used to influence consumers.
