At Apple, design comes above all. The design team are given free rein to set their own budgets and are given the ability to ignore manufacturing practicalities. I always found it very interesting how Apple, even though their technology is not the most impressive, is the most popular tech company in the world; the biggest reason for this is their designs. Although I too am guilty of this, it is interesting to see how many people choose an Iphone over a Samsung phone only because the design is “prettier”. This shows how big of an influence design – consciously or subconsciously – has over us.
