Digital artist Paul Brown’s prints

In another one of my classes, I am reading a book which discusses the use of algorithms in different areas of our lives and one of the chapters is about algorithms in art. This really interested me so I decided to look further research the topic and it led me to this article. At one point, this article examines whether or not we can tell the difference between human made art and AI generated art. In this experiment, participants highly rated computer-generated artworks as being more novel, complex, and surprising than the paintings made by people. I found this extremely fascinating and shocking. This article also reminded me about how we are using processing to turn data into art which is somewhat a combination of computer-generated art and human art.
