Last class, we talked a bit about how computers can create art and if computer-made art was truly art. One really cool thing in the computer/art intersection that I’ve been interested in is the incorporation of artificial intelligence.
Using neural networks, a form of machine learning, computers can analyze the style of artworks and apply them to other photos to create new works that the artists might’ve painted. I think it’s really cool to see how computers can not only pick up on things like color, shape, lines, brushstrokes, but also use them, much like a human artist would!
