Has anyone noticed the new look of Messenger? They’ve ditched the classic blue color in favor of a vibrant gradient.

People have noticed similarities between this new design and that of the Instagram logo. (Both apps are, of course, owned by Facebook.) As it turns out, this link is intentional, as FB has announced plans to allow users communicate across both apps.

The new look is also meant to represent the future of Messenger, distinguishing it from its monotone past. In this, something as simple as color reflects new features and new possibilities with an app.
