Now that we started using color, I was reminded of the story of the “blackest black” paint. Although not what comes directly to mind when thinking of color, it’s a cool concept because it had to have been scientifically manufactured and does not appear naturally. It really portrays how technology contributes to art. This “blackest black”, called Vantablack was licensed and patented by one artist, Anish Kapoor, who refuses to let anyone else use it. So, naturally another artist made his own paint Black 2.0 and sells to everyone except Kapoor.
