As someone who has a great appreciation for both functionality and visual aesthetics, starting a bullet journal was a great way for me to combine the two in a single area. The images included in this post are pictures of weekly spreads in my bullet journal for this year.
Bullet journaling is a very free form of art if considered art at all. They are usually a combination between a planner, journal, and sketchbook, but there is no strict definition on what a bullet journal truly is. Any form of journal that can plan an agenda or record tasks has the functionality of a bullet journal and any creative aspects can be considered as added bonuses. For example, when I first started journaling, I would create elaborate spreads that took much planning and drawing every week but my journal is now more focused towards functionality and minimalism with just a schedule and task list.
I started bullet journaling in 2018 and have created a journal every year since. There were times in which I was not very diligent with consistent journaling and ended up with a few blank pages, but I am very impressed with my overall commitment to it. As one of the laziest people I know and a chronic procrastinator, my bullet journal is one of my greatest accomplishments.
