I found this piece of work by Shilpa Gupta to be very interesting as it deals with ideas of what constitutes art and acts as a form of political commentary. It is a very simple piece of work on a white sheet of paper where 100 people from India, Canada, Palestine, Italy, France, and South Korea were asked to make a hand-drawn map of their respective nations in blue ink. The layering of these images allows us to take a deeper look at the histories and struggles of each of these nations.
