Tyler, The Creator often does a great job at creating a buzz around his performances. During the AMAs, the buzz surrounding his performance was about his outfit. The design of the set did a great job at capturing the cold outside environment by combining trees covered in snow in the background of a blue house. Tyler wore his recurring lumberjack step, brown coat, white shorts, sock and house slippers with a Baudelaire hat. I thought it was interesting that he looked both cold and hot while the environment designed provided a tone so cold and still. Twitter users took to the platform to jokingly discuss this. Many people summed it up as fashion. I think it’s fascinating how environments provide us with information as to how to act, behave and dress and the discussions that can come out of it when things don’t match.
