This week, Papa Johns (formerly Papa John’s) rolled out with a redesign of their logo overall brand look. I’m always interested to see how classic logos are updated to feel more modern and (often) more minimal. Personally, I am a fan of this simple new logo which retains the iconic arched shape, but I find the omission of the apostrophe to be a rather funny change. This was done to distance themselves from the founder John Schnatter after he stepped down after using a racial slur in a conference. It seems like just taking away the apostrophe doesn’t really do much to accomplish this goal, but it is interesting to see the reactions of others to this new change.
