The linked article displays a few examples of Emily Furr’s work which juxtaposes the natural and industrial world. Her artwork consists of simple shapes, yet takes on complex meaning and criticism towards humans and their relationship with the natural world. After looking through her artwork, I realized that the configurations of her pieces are similar to that of the abstraction of the Dada composites. She is able to strategically combine aspects of nature and machines to develop a piece which speaks towards the importance of sustainability. I definitely recommend looking through the images in the article as well as her other work!
