Since we are currently being affected by the storm (yes, again) and working on Dada, I want to share the work of the photographer and writer, Dylan Lewis.
Dylan Lewis was born in Richmond, Virginia. He attended the University of Georgia as an MFA student and is currently living in Athens Georgia.
He explains his ongoing “Junebug vs. Hurricane” project:
“My work attempts to disrupt the already fraught relationship between image, language, and narrative, as well as the ways in which those converge to influence how we experience our memories and how we envision our futures – both personal and collective futures. By showcasing the spiritual and material exhaustion endemic to our current moment, the photographs evoke a psychogeographic decay that both addresses the problem and seeks out subtle subversions, nodding to imagined futures and alternative modes of being.”
His photographs record natural objects such as animals and landscapes and human-built objects such as houses and roads.
