As an avid outdoorsman and fly angler, I’m fascinated by fish, their biology, but also their form and colors. Each individual fish is unique in patterning, color, and imperfections, and many artists choose to represent those differences through variations in shape, style, and medium. Some artists, like Garrison Doctor, employ a dual-tone, more anatomically-realistic style while my friend Sarah Landström chooses a style that imparts movement in the artwork. Ultimately, our fish artwork and style is a reflection of our personal experiences on the water.
