As we learn to create artworks by coding in our processing project, I found that AI art to be an interesting space that has been emerging due to the technology advancement. The above artwork “Edmond de Belamy, from La Famille de Belamy,” by the French art collective Obvious, was created by an AI algorithm. It was sold for an incredible $432,500 in October 2018, signaling the arrival of AI art on the world auction stage. The arrival of AI has introduced a new medium of art, and is expanding the frontier of the art definition.
