This weekend I got an ad for something quite peculiar: organizational desktop backgrounds.

The exact advertisement I got

I had recently started using the sticky notes app on my computer, jotting down all the deadlines and upcoming assignments. I had normally done this on an agenda before, but it didn’t seem to matter considering all my classes were on my computer anyway.

However, something I hadn’t considered was that the use of sticky notes might make my desktop a chaos. Notes upon notes, with screenshots in disarray behind them. After a while, my organization method was more of a disorganization method.

So, when I saw this organizational desktop background, I was reminded of the Desktop Background project. I decided to search up some more examples of organizational backgrounds to see what I liked best.

After some deliberation, I decided I wanted some simple categories for my organizational background, which I was going to make.

Although simple, it helps me have to-do lists for my classes as well as my club activities. I’m still figuring out if to keep the vision board (to keep myself motivated) and affirmations (for positive vibes) in it. I also haven’t figured out how to insert a calendar. However, I hope to continue making these for many months to come and keep my desktop organized!

This is so cool! What a great way to organize the desktop background to make it personal, functional, and productive.

As someone who is obsessed with productivity and design, I think this is such a cool way to organize files, agendas, and plan out your day/week. I want to try this out for myself! Thanks for sharing

Really interesting product, thanks for sharing! I use Trello to organize my tasks (put things in columns like “To Do” or “Ongoing” and can easily move things around until they finally get to a “Done” bucket or get archived and this reminds me of that but you literally can put your files you’re working on in the categories.
