The Philadelphia Flyers are one of only a few NHL teams to retain the same logo since the beginning of their franchise. The league recently released new ‘Reverse Retro’ jerseys for each team; these jerseys are modern remixes of jerseys worn previously in the team’s history. Seeing these made me curious about how Flyers jersey design has changed over the years.
Most changes have been subtle (a stripe removed here, a color block added there) since the logo hasn’t changed at all.
The most noticeable difference over the years has been the transition from a burnt orange to a lighter shade.
My personal favorites are their current alternates: an all black jersey with a simple orange stripe and larger numbers.
