Sharing another visual/street artist I love, Johanna Toruño. She has long used the city streets as her canvas to share messages about Black and Latino solidarity and the working and immigrant class (The Unapologetic Street Series, formerly the Unapologetically Brown Series). Something particularly powerful about her taking to public space as a personal gallery is the fact that she is an undocumented immigrant, and she credits her upbringing in San Salvador before her displacement as the inspiration behind using posters as a medium of self expression. She recently collaborated with Nike, and makes her work extremely accessible with free printouts, coloring book illustrations, posters, etc.
