I found this little mouse sculpture when I was looking up actually small monuments. It got me thinking about how little things like this on the sides of buildings go largely unnoticed, but can add such a charming detail to an otherwise normal building. This monument is meant to commemorate two men who fell out of this building in London, apparently over a fight over a cheese sandwich. Eventually it was found that a mouse had eaten the cheese sandwich. It is interesting what stories or people have the ability to be monumentalized. Do you think the size of a monument reflects how important that person was in their life?
