still life challenge

The still life tradition may have changed but it lives on. When I heard about our still life assignment, I was reminded of this instagram account that has amassed nearly 100k followers: @stillherestilllife

The account hosts a weekly still life challenge. Each week, the prompt goes something like this: “Draw it in anyway you like, any medium (maybe try something new?)… draw as much or as little of the photo as you like too, it’s your interpretation!” The account is ran by artists/illustrators  @zenaokay & @tesssmithroberts.

I like this account a lot because it’s fun to see how so many artists interpret the same prompt in their own unique way. Most of the pieces are digital artworks, but there is a fair amount of other mediums: collage, felt, ceramics, painting, etc.
