Since we unfortunately cannot do the intervention project in person, I thought I’d show people what my friend did in this class 2 years ago for her project. Her group constructed this massive money bag and put it beside the Ben Franklin statue on Locust walk. They also taped a sheet to it with statistics showing the income disparity of the student body at UPenn, which is the Ivy with the highest income disparity. It eventually got taken down and confiscated by Penn police. Here is the article they published in the DP about it. I think it’s a great example of what artistic intervention can accomplish.
