Since we started working with colors in class, I have been looking up the importance of color in abstract designs. In the example attached above, the two paintings are very similar in style, but the painting on the left uses more warm colors like yellow, orange, red, and pink, while the one on the right uses cool colors like blue, green, and purple. It was really interesting to see how to paintings, both similar in organization and style, can seem so different in tone and mood based on the colors being used.

These are really cool pieces! It’s so interesting how the colors that make up the majority of a palette, even if a bunch of other colors are present, can really put an overall effect on our view of the image.
