I recently went to Wonderspaces Philadelphia with some of my friends. Wonderspaces is an interactive art gallery with different exhibits created by different artists. One exhibit, in particular, is a room filled with strands of hanging lights. The lights are all off to start out with but they are programmed in a way that when someone touches them they light up. I found this room to be interesting because the viewers tend to take a few minutes before they figure out how to get the lights to turn on and change color. As I have been completing the recent assignments involving processing, I have been thinking more and more about what coding and programs are involved in making this exhibit function. Also, is is interesting to think about the different ways that projects involving more complex programming can take shape in the physical world and off of the computer screen.
