Ever the sucker for political design, I’ve been harshly judging the New York City mayoral candidates’ campaign designs for months now. The candidate I would support if I could vote in the election is Dianne Morales, a nonprofit executive from Brooklyn, and her campaign design experienced an incredible rebrand.
Below are some of her old campaign social media graphics:
The old graphics use Permanent Marker font, which isn’t appealing or appropriate for a political campaign. They also look like they’ve been created by several different designers with access to different assets/resources.
The following graphics are part of her campaign’s rebrand, which happened earlier in February:
The new graphics have a more cohesive color scheme, uniform, bold font choices, and aesthetically pleasing layouts. I’m not sure if it’s going to earn her any votes, but Morales’ redesign is a big step up from her previous branding.
