In response to the pandemic, it appears that some museums have had to sell important pieces to deal with financial pressures. This article offers an alternate perspective, where the Baltimore Museum of Art, which was not struggling financially, deaccessioned three paintings to advance salary increases across the board, invest in diversity and inclusion programs, offer evening hours and eliminate admission fees for special exhibitions.
