I was procrastinating work by scrolling through YouTube and found a recent video that ties into our discussions on how it’s difficult for design to be neutral. This rather eerie video talks about how an anonymous conspiracy group QAnon has adopted a seemingly innocent pastel Instagram aesthetic to communicate absurd misinformation about how liberal elites facilitate child trafficking. Part of me wonders if this aesthetic is what has contributed to this movement taking off so rapidly in the past few months…
