Recently, upon seeing the Met’s “Jacob Lawrence: The American Struggle” exhibit, a visitor realized that her neighbor had one of the panels that had been missing from the series since 1960 in her living room. The neighbor apparently bought it at an auction in the 60s and has handed it over to the Met. While this is not directly related to anything we have talked about in class, I thought it was an interesting story and wanted to share.
