Vivienne Westwood is an iconic British fashion designer who constantly strives to rebel against fashion norms and continues to redefine the expression of Punk Rock in fashion. Her initial interest in clothes manifested in biker clothing, zips, and leather, riding off of the hippie movement in the late 60s. She launched her first catwalk show (The Pirate Collection of 1981) with Malcolm McLaren, drawing on inspiration from Peruvian women wearing bowler hats, Keith Haring’s art, and Tokyo’s neon signs.
I am drawn to Westwood’s defiant and ungovernable outlook on fashion, art, and music. From when she was 30 years old to now, her work creates an aura of mysteriousness and splendor.

I love her clothing. Recently, there’s been a necklace of hers that’s been trending because all the tik tokers are wearing it. It’s a pearl necklace with a crown on it. I love how a classic designer can become popular with younger generations through mainstream media.
