When does it stop being photography and start becoming digital art” discusses the blurred lines between photography and digital art as in the editing process photos become more warped and edited with the advancement of digital tools like Photoshop.

The article discuses what is and isn’t considered ‘photography’ which reminded me of the ‘Visual Remix’ article discussion of the phenomena of artists utilizing other artists’ work to create their own pieces (like collages). Some questions the article considers is: Is photography what you see or capturing moments? Does post-production eliminate the sanctity of the photo?

Ultimately, I do not think photography and digital art are mutually exclusive. Photography is a form of digital art that can be developed through digital apps.

We can’t deny that the lines between unedited and edited photos are important outside of the art world. In the news media, photos portray reality and any editing is not allowed.
