The Venice Biennale was founded in 1895 with the purpose of gathering the world’s focus on contemporary art. This exhibition is held biennially and overtime expanded the range of art to include architecture, music, theatre, dance, and film.
Since the 1990s, the Venice Biennale have opened globally and hundreds of biennials have been organized around the world. There have been numerous Biennales in different places such as Australia, Taiwan, Puerto Rico, Belgium and even in South Korea. I recall my aunt being invited to show her art work at one of the Biennales.
There is a Venice Biennale opening from April to November of 2022 with the theme of The Milk of Dreams. It is the 59th International Art Exhibition and this time the exhibition is curated by Cecilia Alemani who is the first Italian woman to hold this position.
