This is an original photograph that I took while getting groceries. While this photo is aesthetically pleasing to look at, at contains objects which are foreign to me, what struck me most about this image was how its meaning would change if I were to post it on Instagram. The common interpretation of the image would change from a quick picture I took to commemorate the moment I saw all these foreign water brands in one place for the first time into an appraisal of luxury items; The image would symbolize an ascription to consumerist culture. I think it’s interesting how a change of platform could make me rethink possible interpretations of my own message.

A very interesting post Lesedi! I also think that platforms are stereotyped by their users instead of the founders, most of the time. For example, people mostly choose to share their personal lives on Instagram, which created this idea of luxury about photos shared on the platform.
