I’ve been hearing more and more about crypto art recently, and while to be honest, I still don’t fully understand it, I think it’s a pretty interesting intersection of modern concepts and the art world. From my understanding, crypto art is art that is tied to a unique cryptocurrency token that authenticates that that art is unique. I was reminded of crypto art when I watched the assigned video Ways of Seeing. The video’s discussion of art’s value and the impact of modernity reminded me that art really evolves and adapts along with technology.

Crypto art is super cool. I also don’t know very much about it but these non-fungible tokens (NFTs) seem like an interesting idea and maybe the future of art selling!

I’ve also been interested in this space and really enjoyed a podcast related to this topic. Here, MKBHD, a famous tech YouTuber interviews Beeple, an artist who sold a digital NFT art for almost $70M, to understand this space further and get insights into how the advent of NFTs might affect upcoming artists.
