A trove of ancient cave art was discovered in the Columbian Amazon (courtesy of Ella Al-Shamahi)

Made around 12,600 years ago, the piece contains tens of thousands of animals and humans on this eight-mile rock. Stretching along the Guayabero River in the Colombian Amazon, the piece encapsulates numerous types of animals. Those animals include drawings of large mammals, birds, fish, lizards, handprints, and masked figures of dancing humans; these animals that the humans interact with on these same graphics are actually giant Ice Age mammals. This entire structure was recently discovered by archeologists and they claim it to be the world’s largest collections of prehistoric rock art in the Amazonian rainforest.
