When stumbling upon this article, I thought that this artist’s work looked extremely familiar–and then it hit me! I had visited Bosco Sodi’s exhibition in Hong Kong last summer and was reminded just how awesome the process he takes to create his art. He fully embraces nature into his artwork, specifically how paint/clay/material he uses transforms and weathers down when exposed to elements of nature such as humidity, heat, cold, etc… This article touches on Sodi’s Perfect Bodies project: spherical clay monuments sitting in a Brooklyn lot. Although its location is nothing special and very mundane, these “bodies” themselves represent “the small things in life and our relationship with the earth” and do so much to transform the space they take up. This, to me, is almost a very subtle form of intervention art.
