Hi friends! I’m back from a trip to Design Miami and wanted to share some of my favorite pieces and highlights of the day.
The exhibition was coming to an end, but there were still a lot of pieces on the floor to look at and touch. Each gallery had a few representatives, be they directors, owners, or curators, that answered questions about the artist, the limited quantities, or materials of the design pieces. Everything on the floor was available for sale and could be purchased immediately. We loved so many things and wanted to get them, but unfortunately, it would have been very expensive to ship back home.
This first piece that I saw was hand/motion activated butterflies that spun in the hand blown lightbulbs when you walked past. I think it has something to do with kinetics.
These were mushroom made eco-friendly packaging for candles!
These were limited edition sneakers and figurines- quite hypebeast-esque.
This exhibit had wood and resin furniture that seemed so elegant and sturdy at the same time. The furniture creation is truly extraordinary, so unlike big box retail furniture.
Ended the four story tour with some LA designed furniture by the Haas Brothers who are famous for their super colorful hairy creature like furniture.
