These #vanlife and #vanconversion posts have been steadily crawling into my YouTube and Instagram feeds. For those of you that haven’t heard about it already, vanlife is this alternative lifestyle that allows a person or (oftentimes a couple) to live in a remodeled and customized van and travel the world. It’s like a tiny home on wheels! Although living in a van might not be for everyone, the ability to just forget about school or work and explore while saving on rent is a dream for many. The thought has definitely crossed my mind during this unfulfilling and challenging semester.
The most addicting and viral thing about these posts is the conversions! Many people start with these really cheap vans and turn them into luxury homes. It’s astonishing to see the before and after pics.
I mean, look at this conversion @swiavan
There are also YouTubers who vlog their experiences with vanlife. Jennelle Eliana is a popular vanlifer. She’s been living in her van for 3 years now and lives with her pet snake named Alfredo. How cute? Here’s one of her videos below.

I definitely see the new trend of tiny houses in general everywhere! Even in the Sims game, they released an expansion pack with a similar concept of tiny and compact living.

I personally think this is so cool and something I would want to do at some point in my life! I think it’s so interesting how living and personal spaces can become mobile, no longer anchored to one location.
