I stumbled upon this article’s headline about shattering conservative ideas about beauty and immediately made a connection to Wangachi Mutu whom my artist presentation on. Like Mutu, Ewa Juszkiewicz uses a contemporary style of nonsensical juxtaposition to challenge her audience about what beauty really means. I love how she integrates portraiture with elements of nature in such a seamless manner, much like Mutu does.
