I recently watched the documentary Franca Sozzani’s son made of his mother called Franca: Chaos and Creation. I had never even heard of the name Franca Sozzani, but after watching the documentary, I was entranced and enamored by this woman. She was Editor in Chief of Vogue Italia and throughout her career, raised the bar in a number of different ways. She challenged the way Vogue expresses itself to the world, the true role of a fashion magazine, and brought light to issues such as race, environmental destruction, and plastic surgery.
She was ageless in the way she presented herself and lived her life. She passed away 4 years ago, at age 66. But I believe her creative and rare spirit continues to exist in the universe and will do so for a very long time.
