If you’ve scrolled Facebook recently, chances are that you’ve come across newsfeed updates of friends that have marked “Going” or “Interested” on Facebook event posts of Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience.
Van Gogh immersive experiences are real-life or virtual reality (VR) exhibits of Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic paintings. These exhibits attempt to make the attendees feel as if they are physically inside one of his paintings, and do so via projections of the artwork in large gallery spaces all around the world. Projections include images or videos of the work, accompanied by animations, narrations, fragrances, or music.
The Philadelphia exhibit features screens surpassing 15,000 square feet, and virtual reality headsets for a fully engaging experience.
The next time you want to take a study break or go on a weekend outing with friends, consider visiting the immersive exhibit located just 15 minutes away from Penn by car!
