Climate change is a real threat, and Danish artist collective Superflex knows this. In an effort to warn the public of this impending threat, Superflex uses ironic humor to convey the idea that rising sea levels could at some point result in “interspecies living”–meaning one day we will live amongst the fishes and learn how to function as a society together. With the architectural installation Dive-In, Superflex reminds the public of this idea by constructing a functional drive-in theatre using a material that attracts marine life and facilitates biodiversity. The walls of the piece contain projections of marine life interacting with the structure to communicate to viewers.
