This past Monday, I opened Twitter and saw this:
To provide some context, Kyle Kuzma is a professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards, and this was one of his pre-game ‘fits. While this outfit went viral for all the wrong reasons, it got me thinking about how fashion has become an integral part of the NBA. Interestingly enough, how players dressed in the arena tunnels only became a topic when the NBA instituted a dress code. Now, that rule is no longer enforced. In fact, outrageous outfits only contribute to the all-time high popularity of the NBA.
