Four technologies are being developed/are developed to deal with art forgery. First, Digital Art can be tracked with Block Chain the same way that Bitcoin is tracked when it is mined. This keeps track of the originals and prevents more copies of a piece from being sold than what the artist wants. Next, Deep Learning can be used to validate old art pieces by finding discrepancies by studying brush stroke, color, and composition of the pieces. Third, PMF (peptide mass fingerprinting) can be used to analyze the binding agents in pieces and date them back to when they were made. Finally, there is a new technology on the market that is using synthetic DNA that allows for artists to sign their work with the DNA and catalog each individual unique piece of DNA into a digital system which allows the original pieces to be tracked.
