Having had the luck to experience the Van Gogh Immersive Experience first hand, I can tell you it is amazing. The designers of the exhibit push for the observer to understand and feel each of the individual emotions that Van Gogh felt during his time painting. The exhibit first starts in a room where the viewer can learn about Van Gogh’s paintings and see replicas of them to understand the timeline of his work. Then, there is a looping approximately 30 minute projection where the viewer sits inside as Van Gogh’s pieces come to life around them. The immense talent that each of the designers had to incorporate this many moving parts while still conveying the trauma and struggles of Van Gogh’s life is amazing. And, if anyone wants to go see it, the exhibit is in Philly right now!
