This past weekend, my friends and I drew on the ground with chalk. I highly recommend, although it was pretty messy. I think it was a challenge to draw with something so thick and imprecise as opposed to the typical art materials we use (pencils, markers) and especially when compared to the digital tools we have been using all semester. The limitation on the amount of colors also required use of negative space (the base color of the brick would often be used as the “black”) which took some planning ahead as it is kind of a challenge to erase chalk once it has been put down. Regardless, it was a fun experience and hopefully the pictures we drew brightened someone’s day.
