I recently watched a Ted talk that my mom sent me by Wharton professor Adam Grant. He was talking about how original people tend to procrastinate, but they do not procrastinate to the point of self doubt. He spent a while talking about how the Mona Lisa took 16 years to paint. I was always under the impression that it was a portrait that was done in one sitting. I found this tidbit of knowledge reassuring as an artist who constantly toils with thinking my work is imperfect.
