Artists and designers are getting creative with how to showcase their works or other peoples’ works. For example, a museum chose to measure exactly 6ft between each installation upon reopening, as a social awareness movement. The digital realm is getting increasingly popular for showcasing art and the COVID Art Museum is one example. This museum, launched by Emma Calvo, Irene Llorca and José Guerrero, is a completely virtual museum that has its platform on Instagram. They invite anyone to submit their artwork through an online form and feature the selected on their Instagram feed. They seem to select pieces that match their color scheme that is chosen for a specific amount of time. This creates a very diverse array of art from photographs and drawings to digital renderings and sculptures which all represent life in the pandemic. They also leave all the posts up instead of taking the old ones down (as done in typical museums), so it creates a chronological record of peoples’ lifestyles. I think this is a nice way for smaller artists to showcase their work online and support other artists.
