I have always enjoyed looking at acrylic pour paintings and watching the process of making them. The choice of color can be guided by the color wheel and various palettes according to the artist’s intentions. However, I always wondered why the artists moved the paint in a certain direction vs another, and what the painting could have looked like had the artists moved the canvas differently. Different paintings could have resulted, the possibilities are endless. This raises the question of whether this form of art can be done by anyone? Is the direction of paint intentional? Additionally, connecting this form of art to our Invisible Cities Project, it is interesting to think about how our studies could have turned out if we chose different color combinations and perhaps different ways to represent the same idea.
